• EGNOS V3 Phase A Study - The EGNOS V3 Phase A Study aims at identifying sustainable requirements for the long-term development of the EGNOS system from technological point of view.
• 3GSIP Service Infrastructure  - Central provision of positioning and navigation services and test capabilities in the region of North Rhine-Westphalia (NAVISAT activity with VCS as consortium leader).
• Galileo IOV Phase – Realization of the GACF and CMCF element as well as the GNMF facility.
• GATE (Galileo Test Environment) - Galileo signals with physical signal transmission in a realistic test environment. VCS provides the Monitoring & Control Facility and the Archive and Data Server.
• GIGA - Development of new services and applications for the energy industry, based on the future satellite navigation system GALILEO in cooperation with EON Ruhrgas AG.

Human Spaceflight

Columbus Control Centre

• Data Services Subsystem - TM/TC distribution and routing service between all entities in MSM ground segment and external sites (worldwide). Data management and security functions to control access and services.
• Long Term Archiving - Archive intelligence and retrieval service for long term access to Columbus data.
• Integrated Management Subsystem (IMS) - Monitoring and control of all Columbus Control Centre facilities including wide area links and ESA infrastructure located at the other ISS control centres. Trouble-Ticket-System, data quality monitoring and reporting.
• MVDS Management System - Integrated monitoring, control and configuration solution for the globally distributed video system infrastructure (MVDS).
• Mission Control Subsystem - Server applications for the Mission Control Subsystem
• Columbus Distributed M&C System - Monitoring and Control of USOC´s supervised payload racks on the ISS (subcontract to EADS).

Earth Observation

• Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport – 2met!® Receiving Station for the international airport in Rome, Italy
• MTG Ground Segment Re-usability Study - Definition of a harmonised ground segment for future EUMETSAT missions. Assessment of potential for re-use of existing facilities and elements. The contribution of VCS comprises the topics data dissemination and archiving.
• MTG Phase A Study - Exploration of different architectural concepts, with the goal to create a baseline architecture for the MTG Ground Segment. (Subcontract to VEGA IT GmbH, Germany).
• High-Rate DCP Prototype Units - Development and implementation of a prototype system mainly based on the VCS COTS DCP DRGS (Direct Receive Ground System) system on behalf of EUMETSAT. The system is mostly designed for GOES and INSAT DCP.
• MTP Core Mission Control Centre (CMCC) - Dissemination Element, DCP Processing Element, GTS Interface Element, Encryption Sub-System.
• METEOSAT Second Generation (MSG) DADF Prime Contractor for the Data Acquisition and Dissemination Facility (DADF).
• 2met!^® Worldwide Installations - Currently, VCS installed over 100 MSG User Stations, 40 HRPT/MODIS Stations and more than 125 other satellite receiving systems.
• ASSIST - Integrated service for alpine regions, considering their characteristics with the intention to improve crisis- and risk management capacities for rescue teams and decision makers.
• TerraSAR-X - Security Management System for the commercial service, the verification of data access requests.

Telecom

COMED NG - National funded research projects on behalf of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), focussing on:

• Quality of Service via intelligent satellite links and dynamic bandwidth management (Project reference number 50 YB 0515)
• Mobile satellite connections for prioritised data services (Project reference number 50 YB 0716).
