SCISYS has worked with Arqiva to design, build, and rollout an operational support system for the UK digital terrestrial television transmitter network. It provides the replacement for the system built in the 1990's by SCISYS.

The work included the design, build and test of equipment deployed to over 1100 television transmitter/relay sites in the UK. It also includes the creation of a highly resilient and secure control centre system.

This provides Arqiva with information to manage its engineering through a Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and root cause analysis capability, business Service Level Agreement calculations and customer reporting, management of the ongoing and future maintenance of the overall system through planning capability and “what if” modelling.   The system has been created by integrating a number of off the shelf components into a single seamless solution.

As part of the work, SCISYS is contracted to help configure the system and provide operator and maintainer training and make adaptations during the Digital Switch Over up to the end of 2012.
