Japan Meteorological Agency renews relationship with SCISYS

Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) has renewed its client relationship with SCISYS after a 15-year hiatus. SCISYS will deliver a combined satellite-data reception system consisting of all hardware and software for the prediction of satellite track and reception of satellite imagery and other information from polar-orbiting satellites.

JMA first signed an agreement with SCISYS in 1999 for a broad range of products and services related to satellite systems, equipment and services for the MTSAT mission, a dual-function satellite programme.

“We are delighted that JMA has resumed their client relationship with SCISYS, especially after such a long time. It shows that they have kept us in mind,” says Dr Peter Scheidgen, business development manager for Earth Observation (EO) at SCISYS. SCISYS will provide services for combined X/L-band satellite data to satellites such as NOAA HRPT, METOP A-HRPT, TERRA/AQUA MODIS, NPP and JPSS.
